E-Justice: EU web portal launched

The first version of the European "e-Justice" web portal has been launched in Brussels following the informal meeting of the Justice and Internal Affairs Council, in the presence of Members of the European Parliament, European Justice Ministers, Commission Vice President Reding and organisations representing legal practitioners.

In his speech at the liberal think-tank Demos, Deputy Prime Minister and Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg set out his aims for a liberal Parliament. Full text below: Last year, I wrote a pamphlet for Demos, arguing that the liberal moment had come. I argued that demands for a new approach to politics, for a radical redistribution of power, would soon have to be met by a liberal agenda.

Lord Ashdown to lead review of emergency aid

Diana visits north Lincolnshire farm

Diana visited a north Lincolnshire farm today. She toured the farm (RJ and AE Godfrey near Elsham), which is a family business producing pigs and growing arable crops, before discussing a range of issues with a group of farmers over lunch.
